Good Morning. It is 9:30 am, just walked Lucas to sleep. He was experimenting with new sounds this morning. Click on the circle to start the video.
Good Morning giggles and chatter from Lucas.

The visit has been absolutely wonderful. Weather was perfect all the time. Geneva is a wonderful place to just walk around. Tram if you need it. Only road in the car to and from the airport and when we went to Ober-Schwanden. And even to get to the airport, you could take the bus/tram.

We will have the pleasure of seeing Matt, Caro and Lucas in mid December.... woo Hoo.

Sarah and Abel headed home on Tuesday. The five of us then traveled around Geneva and explored a new park. Also we did one of our usual trips when traveling abroad.
Sarah and Abel saying Goodbye on Tuesday morning

Lucas with his precious big smiles

We check out the menu at McDonalds when in Europe. a meal for 4 persons was 56 Francs which is about $56.

Lucas checking out the french fries.

Ken and Matt taking on a game of ping pong in the park.

Watch those moves.

Large park with animals that was free to roam through. Here is a reindeer - there was a female and a baby as well.

Those horns have to be heavy - How does he hold his head up?

A Marmoset - Looks more like a beaver, I thought they were smaller.

A good morning feeding with Grandma and Lucas on Wednesday morning.

Good Morning Grandpa.....

We have been off line for a couple of days. We were North of Interlaken in a community called Ober Schwanden. A person that works with Matt has a Chalet there and they allowed us to use if for the holiday weekend. So all 7 of us went. Yes Sarah and Abel were here as well.
The Chalet we stayed in at Ober Schwanden

While here we hiked both Saturday and Sunday. Felt like singing " The Hills are Alive" and while that took place in Austria - The Alps in Switzerland look much the same. Yes Lucas went hiking as well.
The hike began going through a tunnel in the mountain and we could watch the water flow and waterfalls.

Stairs both up and down as we make our way through.

Lucas slept through much of the hike nestled  with Caro in the carrier.

Posing on the trail

Saw some snow and glacier capped mountains from where we were. Matt and Abel attempted to see how far up they could get at one point.
Matt doing hand stands on the mountain.

Sarah trying  to talk Ken over the rocks in the river to get to the other side.

look closely, the white dot is Matt and the black dot
is Abel making their way up the other water fall.

Abel making the leap back to our side.

A garden of Cairns - Which way do I go?

Ken and I adding to a Cairn.

Here we all are, time to start down.  Would have traveled further, but the trail was too rough to go with Lucas,
Great dinner Matt prepared with a marinated pork roast. Thank you Isa Bell for the marinade recipe. I have copied it for home.
Lucas getting ready to take a drink of mountain cold water.

Stopped in Interlaken for  lunch on the way home from the hike today.
Interlaken - Not many tourists for still being peak season. Swiss restaurants closed for lunch at 2pm, so ended up at the Irish pub to get lunch.

Aunt Sarah and Lucas enjoying time.

Lucas ready to go hiking - We cannot lose him in his bright colors.
Grandpa checking him out to see if he is ready to go hiking.
One of the beautiful butterflies we saw along the way. There was another one that would not sit still long enough for a picture.
Lucas enjoying the days travels.

The view from the front of the Chalet. We moved the table outside on the patio to have dinner. Uncle Abel in the background with Lucas time.

No artificial light so when the lights go out all was very dark. Too bad it was not time for a full moon.
Sunday we also went for a hike on a different trail.

Lazy start to the morning on Sunday before we went hiking. Saw some critters, ,pretty flowers and a water fall. Matt got into the water, but I was at the wrong angle to get pictures of him getting in. I was behind a tree and did not get clear shots.

Part of todays travels were on a road to get to the back portions.
Matt taking his turn in the carrier. No stroller here.
One of the beautiful flowers on the way.
We believe this is not a snake but a legless skink - a lizard with no legs. His tail was blunted.
Sarah making her way down to the waterfall the hard way.
You can just see Matt between the tree limbs getting into the very cold water of the waterfall. This is coming from the glacier above.
Yes the gorillas in the forest. - Time for a diaper change.
Once down there, Sarah found an easier way back up, so we made the trip down to the  waterfall.
I think this is a wild orchid as I recall the parts of an orchid
This pic belongs to an earlier date, but it is Lucas on his first boat ride.  We were on our way to Voyier, France.
 Morning play time.
Three generations of boys having fun time.
 Mister Bright eyes.
 Maximum smiles.
Click to play and see Grandpa doing a diaper change.....
We are in Switerzland and this is an Adelwise.

don't know what bird made this nest but very creative. Just way to close to other things.
Another butterfly - wanted to catch a picture with it's wings open but it did not cooperate.
Better close up of the orchid.

Sarah and Abel left for home this morning. Sarah will be right back the end of the week heading for Nigeria and then Uganda for 3 weeks.

We will head out to an animal park in a bit and will add more later.
