Tunisia May 2019

Came to Tunis, Tunisia to see Matt, Caro, Lucas, Sophie and Oliver. They will be leaving here in July for their next post, but we wanted to see this post and the country side. Things to look at for what they are known for are rugs, scarves, and pottery. You will see what we did.
But in the meantime, Matt and Caro had planned a few excursions for us.
We arrived on May 16, after 14 hours of travel.  On the 17th we headed for Hammamet.

Hammament May 18th, 2019

La Kashbah was our first hotel.
Kenny is taking our picture. This is a fort along the Mediterranean Ocean.  You will see a large parrot that was sat upon Matt and the kids.  Not sure what we paid the owner for the privilege of sharing his bird.

Sophie was a little unsure, but she was not going to be beat out by Lucas.  The parrot matches Sophies' shirt color .

It was very windy that day. You can really see the waves on the water rocking and rolling.

As we approached parts of the city, a gentleman asked if we would like a tour. He told us the story of the house doors. This on has two knockers on it. That means it is a house of two families. Also the door colors mean different cultures.Turquoise - Burbur, white-Bedouin, Yellow and Red.
The City of Pines - I was able to capture a picture of a pine tree and the country flag. Several shots with the wind to catch the flag open.

Bougain Villea are very common along garden and wild areas. Many different colors as well. I found my Plant identification app works quite well.

Some swim and some park it.
Kids brought their beach tools to dig and play in the sand. and Yes they filled the holes when we left.
What Lucas can do, so can Sophie or so she believes.
And the love each other most of the time. The waves were really big, so one of us took the kids and held on to them as the waves came up and got them. A pretty good undertow, so especially Sophie, we held her.
Oliver is never quite sure when Lucas has hold if him.
Lucas loves his flowers and bugs.

Many flowers the same and a few of different varieties.
